As we have said many times here on this blog, we are un-apologetically Pro-Coshocton County. We have shared 100 things we love about the community, and we happily talk about why many people have decided to Choose Coshocton. And while we are always positive about our community, it’s especially easy to be smiling right now. There are just so many positive projects going on in the community. So we wanted to highlight just a few in this blog!
Here are 6 positive things in Coshocton County!
Genesis Coshocton Healthcare Facility
There was a buzz in the room last week as Genesis announced its plans to expand it’s footprint into Coshocton County. The new facility, which is set to break ground in July and open in 2023 represents a $45 million investment in Coshocton County.
Broadband Initiative with Commissioners
While the details are still being finalized, the Coshocton County Commissioners have decided to use new stimulus dollars for a legacy project. While access to cell service and broadband has been a challenge for years, the pandemic shined a light on this. As kids needed to do school from home and parents needed to continue to work as well. The commissioners are working on a project to address this with additional towers. For those who want to relocate to Coshocton County to work from home (and there are a lot of those folks) this is a big positive!
Investment on Main Street
Sometimes good things can go unnoticed. Progress can happen slowly. That is why we created this video talking about the momentum on Main Street in Coshocton. While there is still work to be done, progress is in the works. Between Allwell, the Thompson Business Center, Main Street Station, ITM and (of course) the Renaissance on Main, there has been millions of dollars invested over the past couple of years. It’s exciting!
Coshocton Regional Medical Center Receives Top 100 Award
And while the Genesis announcement is exciting, we need to give proper kudos to Coshocton Regional Medical Center. Our local hospital was just recently recognized as a Top 100 Hospital by Fortune and IBM Watson Health. This recognition is huge positive news, and shows a commitment to quality patient care that is good for healthcare in our community.
Booming Housing Market
It is a little crazy. You know it if you have been looking for a home in Coshocton County recently. Real estate in our community is hard to come by. We talk about why in this blog. But regardless of the reason, the truth is this…people want to move into Coshocton County. At the time of this writing, there are only 18 homes listed with realtors in the county. That is not a lot of inventory. It seems that the pandemic is showing the rest of the world what we already knew. Coshocton County is great place to live and work!
Newpointe Community Church Opens New Facility
Another investment in Coshocton County comes from Newpointe Community Church. After being in the community for nearly 8 years, Newpointe built a brand new church facility on County Road 621. The new building is state of the art and is an exciting project for an area that is growing in the community.
There are 6 positive things happening in Coshocton County. And this list is woefully incomplete. There is so much investment happening. This expansion is bound to create new (and exciting) challenges. Now is a great time to take a fresh look at Coshocton County, and see where you can invest and make a difference.
